Flavors.me is a new social media service that allows you to create a simple one-page website and link your social medias into one sleek mashup. Difficulty: Easy

Modern Wordpress content management system offers several built-in tools for modifying the look of your comments. The features have been there for awhile now and in 2.8 they added also the threaded commenting. At the moment the newest version of Wordpress is 2.9.1.

One of the easiest ways to modify the comment list is to make the post author’s comments to stand out. Another easy way is to adjust even and odd comments to look different. Finally today, 3rd of January of 2010, I managed to publish Sipping Designs after two months of agony, frustration and lack of inspiration. The blog layout requires some more tweaking and I will be adjusting it also for mobile devices in the near future, but the main frames are on their places.

Wordpress 2.9 (“Carmen McRae”) was released for public downloads on 18th of December, 2009.  The list of new features is long and impressive. For me the built-in post thumbnails feature, called canonical post thumbnails, is the best piece of the new Wordpress revision. Until now there has been various ways (plugins) to implement post thumbnails. Now that it has been built-in the Wordpress core, the thumbnails are properly specified and unified. Wordpress 2.9 also includes a light image editor  which allows to crop, rotate and resize uploaded images and which will bring needed assistance for busy bloggers.
