The writer is a Finland (located in northern Europe) based freelance web designer and photography and technology enthusiast. Sipping Designs is noteboard for ideas, discoveries and implementation.
Sipping Designs is a one woman project, a noteboard for sharing and storing ideas, inspiration, discoveries and projects. The main focus will be on web design, photography and social media but I’m also going to mumble about technology. I thought about the name, which eventually formed into Sipping Designs, for quite a long time. I wanted to pick something that reflects my interests (different kinds of designs) but also something that covers the notepad aspect (to sip, to taste, to ponder, to let marinate). Welcome to the tasting!
The Writer And History
My name is Minna Perälä and I’m a 26-year-old freelance web designer and geek from Finland (Europe). I’ve been designing web sites for 10 years but semi-professionally for about 4 years. I’ve had a digital SLR camera since fall 2008 and in the second half of 2009 I got interested in film photography. In the beginning of 2010 I started Project 365 to learn more about photography, myself and my gear. Since I was a child I’ve always been into technology. I want to use gadgets and devices and I also want to know how they work. Camera gear and photography are perfect for a (tech) geek like me because there’s always something to learn!
I restarted my blog as Sipping Designs in November/December 2009 because I wasn’t satisfied with the direction the blog was heading. The blog used to be in Finnish and run under domain thatsabsurd.net (still working, bringing you here) and it was called Minnan nettikolo (translates freely as “Minna’s web nest”). I also wanted to write in English to improve my language skills. So bare with me if I make silly little mistakes.
